The filter cartridge is made of hand-blown, lead-free Pyrex glass. The only “plastics” in direct contact with the water are the silicone gaskets and certain polypropylene and nylon separator parts in the filter cartridge. Polypropylene is known to be one of the most neutral plastics, and was chosen because it is one of the most stable plastics available.
